Click here to view video tribute   Etta L. Kinney, 99, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield. Funeral services will Be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Wakefield Presbyterian Church in Wakefield, Pastor Cindi Prather will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. There will be an Easter Star service at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Etta was born on November 10, 1907 in St. John’s, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Ralph E.L. and Jennie (Davidson) Strange. She moved with her family at the age of seven to Waterloo, Iowa. They later moved to Concord, Nebraska, and later settled in Wakefield. Etta graduated from Wakefield High School in 1926. On July 20, 1931, she married Charles “Busty” Kinney Jr. In Sioux City, Iowa. Busty and Etta farmed southeast of Wakefield until 1947, when they moved to Wakefield. Etta became a United States Citizen in February of 1951. Etta moved into the Wakefield Health Care Center in 1994, where she resided until the time of her passing. She was a member of the Wakefield Presbyterian Church and a fifty year member of the Easter Star. Etta is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Busty, one brother Fred Strange and a sister Leola Nimrod.
