Lucille V. Simonsen

Click here to view video tribute   Lucille was born on September 12, 1930, and was later adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Otto Alberts. She attended school in Dodge and Burt Counties. She was baptized in the Christian Faith and was later confirmed in that Faith on April 2, 1944 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Lyons, Ne, by Pastor J. Harms. She later married Ken Simonsen at the same church and was blessed with sixty one years of marriage. They lived on their farm in Cuming County until moving into Pender in November of 1997. Lucille was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pender, the Lutheran Ladies Aid/L.W.M.L., the Pender Community Hospital Auxiliary, and the Pender Senior Center. Lucille was proud to receive her G.E.D. in 1990. For many years she enjoyed sewing, playing cards, square dancing and she loved a good challenging puzzle. Lucille’s family and friends were her life. Lucille is survived by her seven children, Sharon and husband Don Heineman of Pender, Shirley and husband Woody Frey of Thurston, Cindy and husband Delvin Lierman of Syracuse, Nebraska, Brenda and husband Andy Critel of Trumbull, Nebraska, and Jeanne and husband Jim Flucke of Overland Park, Kansas, Warren and wife Maggy Simonsen of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Robert and wife Patty Simonsen of Pender, as well as 27 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and a brother-in-law Duane Simonsen of Pender. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Ken (on March 24), her parents, and sister-in-laws Elaine Kai and Lois Simonsen.
