Click here to view video tribute. Stanley Victor Steele, 74, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Ia. on June 17th, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Stanley was born to Victor and Gertrude (Degroft) Steele on November 3rd, 1932 in Nacora, Nebraska. Stanley’s parents died at an early age, then Fred and Velma Steele raised Stanley. He attended School in Emerson, Nebraska. He married Geraldine Willett-McKeever on May 17, 1975 joined together with 10 children. Stanley worked on the family farm until 1971, he also worked on a dredge in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He then proceeded to become a truck driver. While driving truck, he also did construction work. In 1985 Stanley and Jerry proceeded to go into business for themselves driving in the truck and owning the West Side Café with GIGI always at their feet. He drove truck for Rod Rohde for a few years before he retired in 2002. Stanley is survived by hi wife of 32 years, Jerrie Steele, brothers: Clyde Steele, Kenney and Bev Steele, Hank and Virlee Steele, and Virgil and Martha Steele, his ten children: Steve Steele and his two children; Sandy and Ernie Manuel and their three children; Jeff and Peg Steele and their four children; Charlie and Juanita Steele and their three children; Lori Steele and Linden Whitfield and her three children; Mike and Theresa McKeever and their four children; Tammy and Loren Steecker and their one child; Pat and Maria McKeever and their five children; Chuck and Ruth Ann McKeever with their four children and Brad and Kelley McKeever and their two children, all totaling 31 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Gertrude Steele, adoptive parents Fred and Velma Steele, an infant daughter, Jennifer Jean Steele, and a granddaughter, Jessica Janine VanCleave.
