Click here to view video tribute.   Kurt L. Nebel, 86, of Emerson, Nebraska died on Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Ne., with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church in Emerson with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Kurt was born on November 10, 1920 in Nacora, Nebraska, the son of Henry and Rose (Voss) Nebel. He married Wilma Paulsen on June 10, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. Together they farmed northeast of Emerson until he retired in 1982. The couple moved into Emerson in 1976. Kurt was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church serving on the Church Council, and helping with the church farm ground. Besides farming, Kurt loved vacations, playing cards, watching baseball and football. His favorite television shows were Lawrence Welk and Hee-Haw. Kurt is survived by his wife, Wilma, children: Doug Nebel and his wife Narine of Spanaway, Wa.; Sheryl Roadifer and her husband Lee of Cheyenne, Wy., and grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Brindy, Jilleen and Lance Roadifer. Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose, son Curtiss Nebel and a sister, Marie Crary.
