Click here to view video tribute.   Ronald E. VanKirk, 65, of Bancroft, Nebraska died on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Bancroft, Nebraska, Pastor Earl Underwood will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery with military honors by Bancroft Legion Post #191. Those wishing to leave condolences can do so at www.munderlohfuneralhome.com. Ronnie was born on March 1, 1942 at Wayne, Nebraska, the son of Marvin and Mary Ellan (Henderson) VanKirk. In February of 1957 the family moved to Pender. In June of 1959, Ronnie joined the Navy and served until 1963 when he was honorably discharged. On March 3, 1967 Ronnie was married to Carole Husk at Herman, Nebraska. They had four children: Amy Aknos, Julie Synovec, William VanKirk and Harley VanKirk. They resided at Bancroft for 44 years. He was an antique tractor enthusiast who enjoyed sharing his love of tractors with his children and grandchildren. Elizabeth(Akins) and Joshua Benne, Christopher, Kathryn and Bejnamin Akins; Dillon, Dalton and Kylee Synovec; Andrew and Isabelle VanKirk, Hannah and Lilly VanKirk, and a great granddaughter Emma Meyer. He was preceded in death by his wife Carole, infant daughter Anne Marie and father-in-law Eugene Husk. He is survived by his parents Marvin and Mary Ellan VanKirk, mother-in-law Grace Husk, daughters Amy and husband Patrick Akins, Julie and husband Tony Synovec, Sons William and wife Christine VanKirk and Harley and wife Jennifer VanKirk, a brother Larry and wife Diane VanKirk, sisters Barb and husband Donnie Nelson, Beverly and husband Alan Simonsen, and Debra and husband Rick Faltys of Clarkson. And many nieces, nephews and friends.
