Click here to view video tribute.   Jeanette (Jan) Puls, 75, of Pender, Nebraska passed away on June 22, 2007 at the Pender Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 26, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Near Pender. Jan was born on May 14, 1932 in Altona, Nebraska to Ed and Viola (Heineman) Schmeckpeper. She married Henry Puls Jr. on June 19, 1949 in Pender. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her favorite activities included: bowling, playing cards (pinochle and pitch) going to the Casino, coaching softball, playing shuffleboard, and being with her family. She also enjoyed the time she spent watching birds from her house. Jan is survived by her husband Hank, three children: Patricia Brehmer and her husband Gary of Omaha, Ne; Terri Bottolfsen of Hartington, Ne, and her friend Andy Anderson of Emerson; Dale Puls and his wife Mary Kay of Geneva, NY, grandchildren: Ryan Brehmer of Kearney, NE; Angela Brehmer of Jacksonville, Fl; Greta Kraemer and her husband Doug of Allen, Ne; Kimberly Bottolfsen and her fiancé Greg Hasenkamp of Omaha, Ne; Jill Bottolfsen of Sioux City, Ia; Alex Bottolfsen of Hartington, Ne; Andrea Puls of Interlaken, NY; and Megan and Gretchen of Geneva, NY, sisters: Gail Harrison and her husband Bill of Wakefield, Ne; Bev Fritz of Sioux City; Lorna Wingett and her husband Terry of Thurston, Ne; Linda Burmester and her husband Warren of Pender, Ne, brothers: Leslie Schmeckpeper and his wife Carolyn of Pender; Gordon Schmeckpeper and his wife Margaret of Sioux City, Ia. Great grandchildren: Ashley and Garrett Kraemer, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives Jan was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Stan.
