Click here to view video tribute.  Ryan Otte, 21, of Emerson, Nebraska formerly of Wakefield died on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa as the result of an accident. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne, Nebraska with Father Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. The visitation will be from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 4 at the Bressler - Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. The visitation will continue at 6:00 P.M at the church with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Lunch will be served following the service at the Wakefield Legion Hall. Ryan was born on July 20, 1985 in Wakefield, Nebraska, the son of Sanford “Sandy” and Mary Kay Otte. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 2004. Ryan had a true sense of adventure. He was interested in bull riding and steer wrestling. He had a love for the outdoors including hunting, fishing and trapping. Ryan enjoyed football and children. He was a big brother at school, helped fill in at daycare, and played Santa Claus. On his 21st birthday, Ryan, went skydiving. He worked as a carpenter, welder, a bartender, and many agricultural jobs. Ryan had the gift to make people smile and feel welcome. He loved to be around his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ryan was a gift of life. Even after death, Ryan’s life goes on through the gift of organ donation. Ryan is survived by his parents Sandy and Mary Kay Otte of Wakefield, sisters Michelle and husband Scot Keagle of Wakefield, Christy and husband Jon Gault of Golden, Colorado, Kathy and husband Carl Lewis of Bury St. Edmunds, England, a niece Hannah Gault and two nephews Jack Gault and William Lewis, many aunts, uncles and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Walt and Rae Otte, maternal grandparents Gerard and Agnes Chicoine and a special aunt Edith Hanson.
