Lois M. Guy, 69, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, formerly of Wakefield, died on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield, Rev. Steve Tjarks will be officiating. The visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the church and run until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Lois was born on August 15, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Bastian “Bert” and Esther (Hall) Riepma. After leaving school, Lois worked as a nurses aid in Sioux City. She was married to Larry Guy in Sioux City on March 10, 1961. After their marriage, Lois and Larry lived in Wakefield, Denver and later in California. They purchased the Wakefield Recreation Center in May on 1976, and moved back to Wakefield. Larry died on November 7, 1977. After his death, Lois sold the recreation center and worked in home health care. She moved in 2000 to South Sioux City, where she resided until the time of her death. Lois enjoyed baking and playing cards with her friends and family. She is survived by her two sons and their wives: Rick and Pearl Guy of Omaha, Nebraska and Wayne and Terri guy of Hinton, Iowa, four grandchildren and a sister Lorna and husband Harold Haller of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, and brothers Albert Joe Crawford and Marvin Riepma.
