Raymond LeRoy Gatzemeyer, Jr., 47, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away March 1, 2013 at his home in South Sioux City, NE. Funeral services for Ray will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, NE with Fr. Jerry Leise officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hubbard, NE. Ray was born July 1, 1965 in Sioux City, IA to Raymond, Sr. and Patricia (Coan) Gatzemeyer. He was baptized in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hubbard, NE. Ray enjoyed watching Nebraska football, San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR. He spent his spare time doing carpentry work for friends and family. Ray worked as a mechanic for Wal-mart. Ray is survived by two daughters Jessi Gatzemeyer of Ponca, NE and Terry Hoskey and friend Chris Lindahl of Lincoln, NE and their daughter Madison; mother Patricia Gatzemeyer of Deltona, FL; five sisters Terri Merkley of South Sioux City, NE, DeAnna and husband Bill Woehler of South Sioux City, NE, Lisa Gatzemeyer of Hubbard, NE, Ann Gilmore and friend Jerry Harris of Deltona, FL and Tammi Seger of Deltona, FL; four brothers Steve and wife Steph Gatzemeyer of South Sioux City, NE, Ricky and wife Johnette Gatzemeyer of South Sioux City, NE, Billy Gatzemeyer of Deltona, FL and Gerry Gatzemeyer and friend Michele Johnson of Sioux City, IA, and lots of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ray is preceded in death by his father Raymond Sr.; grandparents Beverly and Francis Coan and Alvia and Hazel Gatzemeyer; two nephews Duane Gatzemeyer and Michael Shawn and one great nephew Benjamin Brown.
