Edward L. Campbell, 68, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Walthill, Nebraska died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home in Sioux City. Graveside services for Ed will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. The visitation will begin on Monday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. at his daughter’s home at 301 Mathewson in Walthill, and will continue until the time of the service. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Walthill is in charge of the arrangements. Edward was born on April 29, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Lowell and Bernice (Parks) Campbell. He was raised in Walthill and graduated from Walthill High School. He went to work for his father at Campbell manufacturing and became president of the company after his father’s retirement. In his younger years, Ed enjoyed muscle cars and hunting. Later he had a true passion for fishing. Ed was involved in Alcoholics Anonymous for 38 years, serving on the board of directors at the fellowship club on 14th St. in Sioux City. Most of all he loved his family, cherishing the time he could spend with his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his son Britt Campbell and special friend Shari Kunert of Omaha, NE, daughters Heather Campbell of Walthill, NE and Megan Zimmerman of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by his mother Bernice of Lyons, NE a sister Kathie (Dave) Steinkraus of Omaha, NE and grandchildren: Aisha, Ethan, Arielle, Robert and Ava and a niece Jennifer Suey. He was preceded in death by his father Lowell.
