Goldie D. Voss

Goldie D. Voss, 83, of Waterbury, Nebraska died on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her home near Waterbury. Funeral services for Goldie will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. The family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Goldie was born September 12, 1930 to Anton and Mabel (Long) Novak. She graduated from Pender High School in 1948, and attended Wayne State College. Goldie married Henry Voss on July 12, 1953. To this union six children were born: Marlene, Margaret, Mardell, Marcia, Milan and Myron. She worked with her husband on the farm until his death in 1977. She continued to live on the farm until her death. Goldie enjoyed sewing, quilting and needlework. She adored animals, children, and cooking. Westerns were her favorite movies to watch. Goldie was a good hearted friend and neighbor who never met a stranger. Goldie is survived by her sons, Milan (Carol) Voss and Myron Voss both of Waterbury, NE, daughters, Marlene (Rocky) Finley of Hemit, CA, Margaret (Randy) Dirks of South Sioux City, NE, Mardell (John) Heinemann of Hubbard, NE, Marcia (Charles) Carlson of Longmont, CO, sisters, Pearl (Marlan) Magdefrau of Norfolk, NE, Sharon Cole of Omaha, NE, Marjorie Novak of Newton, IA, brother, Vernon Novak of Chandler Heights, Arizona, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Goldie is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Voss, mother, Mabel Novak, father, Anton Novak, brothers, Wayne, Junior, Ronald, and Rolland (Butch), and sisters, Norma Schaele and Jewel Novak.
