Harriet M. (Carlson) Larson, 91, of Pender, Nebraska passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Pender; with Pastor Dan Springer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Inurnment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, Nebraska. Harriet was born December 17, 1922 to Carl Ernest and Anna (Carlson) Carlson in Bancroft, Nebraska. On December 30, 1950 Harriet married Verdel Larson at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, Nebraska. To this union two children were born; Mark and JoAnn. Harriet spent her entire life on the family farm east of Pender. Harriet was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and active with the Ladies Aid Organization. Harriet and Verdel hosted the Home Builders Bible Study group several times at their home. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowerbeds, feeding and watching the birds. Harriet was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Harriet is survived by her son; Mark (Kathy) Larson of Wakefield, NE, daughter; JoAnn (Mark) Beiermann of Norfolk, NE, sisters; Alice Blanknagel of Beemer, NE, Doris (Lloyd) Olson of Tekamah, NE, brother Ernest (Chris) Carlson of Marietta, GA, sister-in-law; Gertrude Carlson of Bancroft, NE, brother-in-law Marvin VonSeggern of West Point, NE, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Harriet is preceded in death by her parents; husband Verdel, sisters; Irene VonSeggern, Betty (Ralph) Woerman, brothers; Roy and infant brother Carl, brother-in-law; Willard Blanknagel.
