Beverly Herbolsheimer

Beverly J. Herbolsheimer, age 88, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Lakehills, TX. Funeral services for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church; Pastor William Bertrand will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. She was born August 3, 1925 in Sholes, NE to Agne (Jelinck) Rassmussen and Martin Rassmussen. Beverly was received into the Kingdom of Grace as a child of God through Holy Baptism on July 30, 1933 at home by Rev. Krolus. She was confirmed April 11, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sioux City, IA.Beverly married Garhardt Herbolsheimer on May 31, 1947 in Elk Point, South Dakota. They started their life together in Sioux City, IA where their first daughter, Sandra, was born. A few years later, they moved to Wayne, NE. Beverly worked selling Better Brush and Gary started learning the carpenter trade. Their second daughter, Kathy, was born. They remained in Wayne until 1955 when they moved to Wakefield, NE. They lost Kathy in 1956. Beverly started Beautician school in Wayne. She owned and operated her own shop in Wakefield for more than 25 years. During this time, she also joined the American Legion Auxiliary and held offices as President and District President. She also served as an EMT for approximately 10 years and belonged to the Firefighters Auxiliary. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.They moved to Kerrville, TX in 2001 to be close to their family. While unpacking to settle into their new home, they heard on the radio about the Twin Towers being bombed. They loved watching their family grow. The grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of their lives. They enjoyed going to watch them in plays, dances, and sporting events. They were so proud of all of them.Beverly lost her loving husband on September 30, 2007 while he was in the VA Hospital where she volunteered and had continued to do so after his death for 6 years. She helped at the Chapel and in the recreation room. She logged thousands of hours as a volunteer. She also joined the Kerrville Police Academy and worked as a volunteer for 6 years. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Parker and son in law, Jim Parker; grandson, James Parker and wife, Lisa and their two daughters, Alexandria and Makenzie; grandson, Chad Parker and wife, Tricia and their two daughters, Sydney and Emma.
