Marcella J. (Schindler) Stimson, 93, of Emerson, NE passed away Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangement are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, NE. Marcella was born December 20, 1920 to John and Lydia (Heckens) Schindler in Emerson, NE. She graduated from Emerson High School. In 1941, she graduated college with a teaching degree. In 1945 she married Theodore Stimson. She was a teacher at a country school near Emerson, and later taught at the Emerson High School. Marcella enjoyed working in her garden and yard and sewing. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Marcella is preceded in death by her husband; Ted, parents, twin brother; Marvin Schindler, sisters; Margie James and Doris Heckens, and niece Sharon Biggerstaff.
