Marsha Rose Smith, 54, of Ainsworth, Nebraska died on Friday, August 8, 2014 at her home in Ainsworth. Memorial services for Marsha will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Concord, Nebraska; Pastors William Bertrand and Georg Williams will be officiating. The visitation with the family present will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, Nebraska. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. A memorial service in Ainsworth will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth with Pastor Georg Williams officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Marsha was born on May 10, 1960 in Wayne, Nebraska the daughter of Desmond and Martha (Koch) Smith. She graduated from Allen High School in 1978. After graduation she attended college where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. For the past 20 years she has worked in Ainsworth as a Special Education Teacher, until her failing health forced her to recently retire. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the NSEA and was an avid reader. Marsha was dedicated to the children she taught and thrived on their successes. Marsha is survived by her brothers: Desmond Smith, Jr. of Scribner, NE, Terry (Gayle) Smith of San Luis Obispo, CA, Dean (Marlene) Smith of Allen, NE, Alan (Mickey) Smith of Sioux City, IA, Bob Smith of Beatrice, NE, Doug (Susan) Smith of Martinsburg, NE, Lin (Mary Lou) Smith of Ponca, NE, Randy (Tonia) Smith of Delta Junction, AK, Dennis (Theresa) Smith of Yankton, SD, sisters; Chris (Bill) Micek of Columbus, NE, June (Bob) Grosvenor of Newcastle, NE, Shellee (Jeff) Heinemeyer of Yankton, SD. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a great great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents Desmond and Martha Smith and a brother Richard Smith, three nieces and a great niece.
