Pauline Sorensen

Theresa Pauline (Crilly) Sorensen, 86, of Bancroft, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the West Point Living Center in West Point, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft; with Father Paul Ortmeier officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in rural Bancroft. Memorials may be directed to the West Point Living Center or St. Joseph’s Hospice Team. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE. Born on March 29, 1928 near Anthon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Hugh and Florence (O’Connor) Crilly. Pauline married Roy O. Sorensen on August 25, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. They made their home in Bancroft, Nebraska. She was an avid collector of Cardinals, receiving many from her friends and family over the years. Her large collection was featured in Siouxland Life magazine in June, 2011. She loved many forms of crafting, teaching others how to knit and crochet, and providing a source for materials from her home yarn business. She loved working crossword puzzles, playing the piano, singing, and playing word games and cards with her friends. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Roy, parents, sisters: Penelope (Nelle) Pearson, Mary Burke, Eileen Renneker, Sister Alice Marie Crilly, and brothers: Francis, Wayne (Bob), Ralph (Bud), Mike and Eugene (Gene). Pauline is survived by her daughters, Nancy Kimmons of Lincoln, NE, Jan Newell and her husband Bert of Lincoln, NE, son, Joe Sorensen of Carmel, CA. She embraced many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Todd Keyser, Jess Sorensen, Bart Sorensen, Daniel Newell and his wife Lynsey, Whitney Newell, Kate Kimmons, Kaleigh Nosal, and Maisy Newell; sisters-in-law Lucille Crilly and Bernadine Crilly, numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
