June R. Hawk

June Hawk, 67, of Rosalie, NE, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Pender Community Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gretchen Ritola and Pastor Randall Herman will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft, NE are in charge of arrangements. June was born April 5, 1947 to Edwin and Hilda (Jensen) Kubik in Pender, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. June graduated from Emerson High School in 1965 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State College in 1968. On May 5, 1968, she was united in marriage to Donald Sterling Hawk at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. To this union, two children were born. While in high school, June worked part time for Kubik’s Corner. While raising her children, she worked at the Village of Rosalie and as a substitute teacher. June taught for Rosalie and later Bancroft-Rosalie Schools for over 40 years. She taught home economics, keyboarding, library, sociology, and independent living. June was also the FCCLA sponsor and assistant speech coach. June is survived by her children, Monty (Jan) Hawk of Rosalie, NE and Heidi (Ryan) Eichelberger of Beemer, NE and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
