Earlyne Tomlinson

Earlyne Fayann (Frey) Tomlinson, 79, of Emerson, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender, NE after a long battle with dementia and a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; with Pastor Gretchen Ritola and Vicar Rebecca Truland officiating. Private family burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home. Earlyne was born March 8, 1936 to Earl and Helen (Oetken) Frey. Earlyne told many stories of working on the farm with her father and going to school at the country school. She graduated from Thurston High School. Earlyne would meet and marry her husband, Jarrel “Gus” Wilson, and raise her children, David Wilson and Denise Morrow. Her children blessed her with 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Earlyne had many jobs but most recently worked for 15 years at Walmart in South Sioux City, NE, until her diagnosis of dementia forced her to make the decision to retire. Earlyne loved her church in South Sioux City, gardening and collecting pig figurines. She moved to Minnesota to live closer to David when her health began to decline, however, it never felt like home to her and she moved back to Legacy Garden last year. Her courage during her struggles will continue to inspire all of those closest to her. She is survived by her mother, Helen Frey of Pender, NE; son, David (Sunne) Wilson of Minnesota; daughter, Denise (Jimmy) Morrow, North Carolina; sisters, Georgia Kinning, Colorado, Vonda Crow, Colorado; grandchildren, Matt Duray, Johnnie Rabbiosi, Jeremy Morrow, Jayme (Morrow) Bradshaw, Brittany Osborn-Wilson, , and Brandon Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kneuhmyuh Morrow, Peyton Fridstrom, Ijayuh Bradshaw, Jazzuhryuh Bradshaw, Elyjuh Bradshaw, Jasmine Duray and Megan Duray. Earlyne is also survived by her special godchild Julie Kinning, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Frey; husband Jarrel “Gus” Wilson, as well as many other relatives and friends.
