Carolyn M. Kraemer, 85 of Wayne, NE, formerly of Wakefield, died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wayne, NE. Funeral services for Carolyn will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield; Pastor William Bertrand will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and FRHS Hospice. Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements. Carolyn was born on August 15, 1930 in Allen, NE, the daughter of Rodney and Elsie (Emry) Snyder. She was baptized on April 5, 1931 at the Methodist Church in Allen, NE. Carolyn attended Allen High School, graduating in 1948. After graduation, she attended teacher’s school and taught at Harmony Hill and Breezy Hill rural schools. On February 12, 1951, she was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Concord, NE. On September 18, 1950, Carolyn was united in marriage to Karl Walden Kraemer at the Methodist Church in Allen. Before retiring, Carolyn worked at the Wakefield Public Schools for 24 years, working as a Library Aid. Carolyn was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, serving on the Ladies Aid and teaching Sunday School. She was also a longtime member of the Wakefield American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed making homemade cards, playing cards and putting puzzles together. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family. Carolyn is survived by her sons: Marlin (Cindy) Kraemer of Allen, NE and Steve (Joni) Kraemer of LaVista, NE; daughters: Marilyn (Jay) Stokke of Lincoln, NE, Kris (Tom) Claussen of Lincoln, NE, Barb (Tim) Kortje of Norfolk, NE and Jackie (Kurt) Dolph of Charleston, WV. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law Margaret Snyder of Caldwell, ID and Pearl Snyder of S. Sioux City, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband K. Walden Kraemer on June 17, 2010 and her brothers Vernon and William Snyder.
