Marvin Doht

Marvin G. Doht, 84, of Bancroft, NE died on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.   Funeral services for Marvin will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE; Pastor Nathan Henschen will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft.  Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Marvin was born November 23, 1932 in Bancroft to Paul and Hermine (Rodick) Doht. He graduated from Bancroft High School as salutatorian. Marvin married Jolene Kolell on April 10, 1955 and the couple had three children. Marvin enjoyed watching Nebraska Football and the Chicago Cubs He also enjoyed coffee time, dancing, and automobiles.  Marvin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jolene of Bancroft, NE; children, Doug (Rita) Doht of Omaha, NE, Tami (Clay) Nelson of Pender, NE, Jeff Doht (Michelle McIntire) of Lincoln, NE; sister, Lillian Schmidt of St. Louis, MO; twin brother, Marlin (Delores) Doht of West Point, NE; grandchildren, Nick (Courtney) Doht, Erin (Tony) Schmitz, Kelsey (Hayden) DeLano, Cassie (Brandon) Bonar, Brady Nelson (Carly Manley), Kate Nelson, Makenna Doht; great grandchildren, Jameson, Adler, Vivienne, Finn and Archer.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Irene Schnier and Rosie Doht.
