Arthur Nelson

Arthur "Art" Nelson, 70, of Lyons, NE passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Funeral services for will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at West Point Family Worship Center in West Point; Pastor Aaron Trimble will be officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Arthur was born January 19, 1947 to Aubrey and Dorothy (Arthur) Nelson in Salinas, CA. He graduated from Albion High School in 1966. Arthur was drafted into the Vietnam War immediately after high school. After being discharged, he married Trudy in March of 1968 and the couple had two children. Arthur was a farmer for 40 years in the Wisner and Albion areas.  He enjoyed working on cars, morning nature walks, and spending time with family. He was a good friend with Harold Palmer and enjoyed helping people around the LaVista Building. Arthur is survived by his son, Troy (Cheryl) Nelson of Lyons, NE; daughter, Jaime (Justin) Corwine of Pender, NE; brothers, Jim (Joyce) Nelson of West Point, NE, George Nelson of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Hilary Wolken, T.J. Nelson, Tanner Nelson, Tommy Nelson, Devan Kaup, and Derek Kaup; seven great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Aubrey Jr. Nelson.
