Barbara Jorgensen

Barbara J. Jorgensen, 82, of Pender, NE passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 22, 2019. A funeral service will be Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Karen McNeil-Utecht will be officiating. The visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. The burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Barbara J. Jorgensen was born on June 30, 1937 to Ralph and Barbara “Bobbie” (Maslonka) Rager in Walthill, NE.  She attended Walthill High School in Walthill, NE. She united in marriage to James Niels Jorgensen on August 8, 1954, to this union the couple had 5 children. 

Barbara was a member of St. Mark’s and St. Peter’s Lutheran Churches both in Pender, NE. She was a part of many leagues and organizations in the Pender Community, most notable for being in the Red Hat Society and a part of the Pender Bowling League. She worked at Welsh’s Pizzeria for several years and also cleaned houses making lifetime friends. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Donna) Jorgensen of Kent, WA, Cory (Gina) Jorgensen of Pender, NE; daughters Kathy Moore of Pender, NE, Michelle Beckner of Dakota City, NE; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Jorgensen; parents, Ralph and Bobbie Rager; brother, Clyde Rager; sister, Verna Mae Hunt; a son, Terry Jorgensen.
