Barbara M. Meyer

Barbara M. Meyer, 83, of Norfolk, NE, formerly of Wakefield and Wayne, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Wayne Countryview Care and Rehabilitation in Wayne. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne; Pastor Jeanne Madsen will be officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019 beginning at 9:00 until 10:30 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home. Barb was born February 11, 1936 in Wisner, NE to Henry and Lucy (Yotter) Frahm. She graduated from Wisner High School. After high school she received her Elementary Education Degree and Elementary Music Degree from Wayne State College and in 1977, she received her Master’s Degree. Barb married Norman Meyer on February 2, 1956 in Wisner, to this union two children were born. They lived on a farm northwest of Wakefield, later moving to Wayne after Normans’ passing.  Barb taught elementary music for several years in Wisner, Wakefield and country school.  She also owned and managed the H&R Block tax office in Wayne from 1985 until 2002. Barb played the piano and the organ for various churches in the area and school events. She also was a 4-H leader for over 20 years. After retirement, Barb enjoyed doing craft projects and spending time with her dog friends, Maggie and Corkie. She also enjoyed watching any Nebraska Husker sports on tv and enjoying her favorite food of chocolate.  Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debi Meyer of Norfolk, NE; and K9 friend, Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Meyer; son, Gregory Meyer; brother, David Frahm; and K9, Corkie.
