Betty A Lamplot

Betty Ann (Ahlers) Lamplot, 87, of Pender, Nebraska, died on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Heritage of Emerson Care Center in Emerson, NE.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; with Pastor Karen McNeill-Utecht officiating.   A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.  For anyone not attending the funeral ceremony, but wishes to join the family at the cemetery, burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pender around 10:45a.m.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Betty was born on March 30, 1933, to John Herman and Anna (Puls) Ahlers in Pender, NE.  Betty was baptized and confirmed in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.  She attended and graduated from Pender High School in 1950.  Betty furthered her education by earning a teaching certificate from Wayne State College.  After receiving her certificate, Betty taught school until her marriage to Ervin Lamplot on June 22, 1958 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  Together the couple raised their family and farmed in the Thurston area.

Betty was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, was involved in WELCA and the Martha Circle.  She was a member of the Extension Club, Wednesday Club and Nebraska Feeders Association.  Betty was also a 4-H leader with the Victory Sewers club.  Her musical talents were valuable to the song competitions for the club.  In her spare time, she liked working in her garden, crafts and knitting items for her friends and family.  Betty’s doors were open to the world.  They had many exchange students in their house.

Betty is survived by her son, Joel (Teri) Lamplot of Thurston, NE; daughters, Jean (Hubert) Rustler of Hatzenreuth, Germany, Jana (Walter) Rustler of Neustadt, Germany, Lisa (Matthew) Harrison of Naponee, NE; grandchildren, Reinhard Rustler, Adam Rustler, Christoph Rustler, Anna Rustler, Christian Rustler, Claire Harrison, Jacob Lamplot, Bennett Lamplot, Corbin Lamplot, Sadie Lamplot; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Hinrich of Pender, NE; and many nieces and nephews; and exchange daughter, Yasuko (Sue) Omi of Tokyo, Japan. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, J. Herman and Anna Ahlers; husband, Ervin; sisters, Frances Harms, Dorothy Schott; brothers, Otto Ahlers, Arthur Ahlers, Earl Ahlers and Albert Ahlers.
