Bricie B. Nicholson

October 20, 1925 — June 19, 2017

Bricie B. Nicholson, 91, of Wakefield, Nebraska passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield. The funeral will be Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wakefield Christian Church in Wakefield; Pastor Bill Chase and Pastor Gary Patterson will be officiating. The visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Wakefield Christian Church. Burial with military honors will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Bressler – Munderloh –Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements. Bricie was born October 20, 1925 in Dannebrog, NE to Grover and Mae Nicholson.  Shortly after his birth, Bricies’ mother passed away.  His father married Georgia White. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1944 and was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Pacific with Army's 77th Infantry. He earned three Purple Hearts while in the Army. After returning to the States, Bricie married Anita Pearson on July 1, 1950 in Ceresco, NE. He began farming with his family and eventually moved into Wakefield to the Ash Street Apartments. Bricie was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of the Wakefield Christian Church. He also was on the Country School Board # 15. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Bricie is survived by his sons, Tom (Donna) Nicholson of Gretna, NE, Jerry (Lori) Nicholson of Emerson, NE, Pat (Debra) Nicholson of Wakefield, NE; daughter, Lou Ann (Mark) Chaplin of Lincoln, NE; sisters-in-law, Mylet Nicholson of Wakefield, NE, Vonis (Larry) Schroeder of Frankfurt, KS; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Georgia Nicholson, wife, Anita Nicholson in 2013; brother, Benton Nicholson; sisters, Lila Mae Nicholson and Josephine Carlson; and grandson, Kevin Nicholson.
