Charles Lee Reppert, 88, of Pender, NE, died on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Villa in West Point, NE.  The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE.  The funeral will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church; Pastor Karen McNeil-Utecht will be officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles was born on February 20, 1935, in West Point, NE, the eldest son of Fred and Theresa Pearl (Schwedhelm) Reppert.  Charles was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point, NE.  He attended rural schools in Cuming County, before graduating from West Point High School in 1952.  He helped his dad farm for a year, then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1957.  He began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Winnebago, NE, as a soil conservationist.  In November of 1957, Charles was called into the US Army, and was stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA.  It was there that he met his future wife, Margaret Greene.  They were united in marriage in Atlanta, GA on January 31, 1959.  Following his time in the service, he returned to work for the BIA.

Charles and Margaret raised their four children on a farm west of Pender. In addition to working for the BIA, Charles also farmed and raised sheep for many years. He retired from the BIA in 1986 to farm full-time.  Charles was an active leader in 4-H clubs and sheep organizations his entire life.  He and Margaret received several awards for their service in these organizations.  Charles and Margaret were long-time members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, who with Charles had continued in love and support for each other for the past 64 years; daughter, Kimberly (Bruce) Roeber of Wakefield, NE; son, William (Lisa) Reppert of Pender, NE; daughter, Elizabeth (Douglas) Tinaglia of Faribault, MN; daughter, Lynn (David) Sherry of Jackson, NE; grandchildren, Jason (Krista) Roeber of Wakefield, NE, Jon (Keri) Roeber of Wakefield, NE, James Roeber of New Hampton, IA, Joe Roeber of Wakefield, NE, Ben (Becca) Reppert of Lees Summit, MO, LeAnn Purucker (Paul Thurston) of Emerson, NE, Blake (Mollie) Reppert of Lincoln, NE, Peter (Shawnee) Tinaglia of Janesville, MN, Lorelei (Creighton) Gerber of Rochester, MN, Amanda Sherry (Wade Deitloff) of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer Perry of Sioux City, IA, Jake Pomeroy of Sioux City, IA; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Carol) Reppert of West Point, NE, Richard (Nancy) Reppert of West Point, NE, and Lewis (Deb) Reppert of West Point, NE; sisters-in-law, Traudel Reppert of Pender, NE, Catharine Wheeler (JC Nobles) of Jeffersonville, GA; aunt, Norma Reppert of Okoboji, IA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, and a brother Lee Reppert
