Cheryl J. Oswald

Cheryl Oswald, 89, of Wakefield, NE, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. Funeral services for Cheryl will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield; Pastor Jill Craig will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Bressler - Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements. Cheryl was the daughter of Pete and Jennie Schrock of Akron, CO. She spent her childhood in Colorado and later attended Hesston College in Kansas, where she met her husband, Ralph Oswald. They were married in 1952, farming for many years near Beemer, NE and later moving to their farm southeast of Wakefield, NE. They retired and moved to Wakefield in 1999. Cheryl loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of her hobbies were gardening, baking, sewing, and writing. She loved spending time with her family and friends, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the church choir. She also loved volunteering at the Senior Center. Cheryl is survived by her children, Steve and Sherry Oswald of Wakefield, NE; Mike and Denise Oswald of Concord, NE; Julie and Jeff Rose of Wakefield, NE; Cristi and Tim McClelland of Vermillion, SD; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Anderson of Lakewood, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
