December 21, 1961 — February 12, 2020

Christine L. Obermeyer, 58, of Pender, NE, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Pender Community Hospital. Memorial services will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender, with Pastor Karen McNeil-Utecht officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangement are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Christine was born on December 21, 1961, to Milton and Carol (Richardson) Ballard. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. Christine attended Pender High School until her senior year when the family moved to Wakefield, NE. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1981. She married Rick Obermeyer in 1981 at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE. Years later they separated. Following graduation, she worked at M.G. Waldbaum Company in Wakefield, NE. She then moved to Florida where she met her special friend Jerry McMillian. They later moved to Texas where she was a manager at Diamond Shamrock. In 2002 she moved back home to Pender, NE where she worked alongside her mother as a part owner of Main Street Café. She then worked as a CNA at Legacy Garden Pender, NE. Christine retired due to health conditions and later moved to Prairie Breeze. She enjoyed crocheting, scrap booking, puzzles, puzzle books, playing cards, and hanging out with family especially her nieces and nephews. Christine is survived by her sisters, Cindy (Keith) Wills of Pender, NE, Candi Barge of Yankton, SD; brothers, Thomas (Diann) Ballard of Pender, NE, Timothy (Michele) Ballard of Lake City, FL; 13 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Christine is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and step-grandfather; her special friend, Jerry McMillan; uncles Jim Richardson, Dean Richardson, and Dean Bowers; aunt, Barb Flemming; and cousin David Richardson.
