Clayton A. Glissman

June 3, 1951 — November 1, 2023

Clayton Allen Glissman, 72, of Pender, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender.  The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m.  The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Pender, with Reverend Robert Schilling officiating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. 

Clayton was born on June 3, 1951, in Pender, NE, to Robert and Lorna (Jones) Glissman.  He grew up around Pender and moved to a farm south of Bancroft.  He attended a country school and graduated from West Point High School.  After high school, Clayton entered the Army National Guard for 6 years.  He married Linda Redding and to this union, the couple had one son, Michael Allen Glissman.  Clayton farmed and raised hogs with his brothers.  He started driving truck for a few different individuals and went on to own his own truck and drove coast to coast and into Canada.  On July 18, 1981, Clayton married Lori Woldt at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE.  Together the couple had two children, Jennifer, and Steven.  Later, he started driving for Tractor Supply and retired early due to colon cancer complications.  He had many health issues in his later years which didn’t stop him for long. 

Clayton is survived by his wife, Lori Glissman of 42 years; children, Michael Glissman of Brownsville, TX, Jennifer (Darin) Bierbaum of LaPlata, MD, Steven (Danielle) Glissman of Humboldt, IA; granddaughters, Dakota Bierbaum, Addelyne Glissman; grandsons, Ari Glissman, and Zane Glissman. 

Clayton is preceded by his parents, Robert in 1977 and Lorna in 2009; brothers, Gary Glissman, Joel Glissman; nephew Robert Strudl, Brian Glissman; uncles Stan Glissman, Larry Glissman, and Don Glissman.
