David Elmer Petersen

David Elmer Peterson, 37, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Wakefield, Nebraska died of natural causes at his home in Portland on May 11, 2020.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield, NE is in charge of the services.

David was born on August, 20, 1982, in Wakefield, NE, the son of Gary and Glenda (Haglund) Petersen.  He attended school in Wakefield, NE, graduating in 2001.  He attended Wayne State College and Northeast Community College, earning a degree in audio engineering.  Following graduation he moved to Portland with his two brothers.  He worked as a sound technician with Artist’s Repertory Theater in Portland.  David had a love for the outdoors and nature, traveling, he enjoyed photography and playing his guitar.  Most of all he enjoyed being with his friends and family. 

David is survived by his mother, Glenda (Ralph) Beiermann of Wayne, NE; father, Gary Petersen of Omaha, NE; brother, Douglas (Natalie) Petersen of Bremerton, WA; twin brother, Matthew Petersen and special friend Chika of Kashiwa, Japan; niece, Sophia and her mother Sayaka Petersen of Kashiwa, Japan; many uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a cousin, Melissa Rogers.
