Don worked hard on the family farm until he had his own dairy farm from 1972 until 1988. He was united in marriage to Linda Halweg on March 27, 1982. Together they raised three children; Jon, Jennifer, and Angela on the family acreage. Don started working at Blue Jet in 1989 and was there for 27 years until January of 2016. He worked many part time jobs but his favorite was at the Bousquet Dairy Farm. He was an active member of Farm Bureau in the 1980’s. Don also served on the church council at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the 2000’s and was a volunteer for Hospice of Siouxland for the last several years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his family and livestock. Don loved being outside gardening, tending livestock, and traveling. Don always said that there is no better friend than a milk cow.
