Donna B Gilster

Donna B. Gilster, 88, of Emerson, NE, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Heritage of Emerson. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. Donna was born May 5, 1929 in Emerson, NE to Harrison and Belle (Merry) Stimpson. She attended school in Emerson. She married Ardell Gilster on March 20, 1948 and the couple had three children. She worked many years at Pender nursing home and hospital. Donna loved to read books, paint and spend time with her family. Donna always had a positive attitude and a bright outlook on life. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Ranae) Gilster of Powderly, TX, Alan (Barb) Gilster of Emerson, NE; daughter, Dreama (Dean) Heairet of Omaha, NE; ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ardell Gilster; brothers, Theron Stimson, Marvin Stimson, Bob Stimson; sisters, Julia Stimson, Wilma Ustick, and great grandson, Jack Malasek.
