Douglas D. Paulson

Douglas D. Paulson, 61, of Wakefield, NE died unexpectedly at his home in Wakefield on December 27, 2019.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE; Pastor Patti Meyer will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Bressler-Munderloh- Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.  Burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family for future designation.  Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements.

Doug was born on June 16, 1958 in Wakefield, NE, the son of Marvin and Evelyn (Beckner) Paulson.  He attended school in Wakefield, NE and Brush, CO.  Following school he worked for Paden Construction in Fremont, NE.  He later went to work for M.G. Waldbaum’s in Wakefield.  For many years he worked in transportation for Waldbaum’s, and later he worked in the maintenance department.  He then worked for Lorenson Redi-mix and then Logan Valley Carriers.  Due to failing health, he was forced to retire.  He enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.  He was an avid Husker and Denver Broncos fan.  Most of all he loved visiting with his friends and family.

Doug is survived by his son Justin (Deann) Paulson and children Jack and William of Beatrice, NE; daughters, Jamie (Doug) Mackling and children Rhyanne, Joslyn, Kash of Emerson, NE and Jenna (Joel) McAfee and children Daveigh, Drake, Dane of Wakefield, NE; stepson, Rodney (Kayla) Cole; sisters, Rosalind Woods of Wakefield, NE, Marvene (Lyle) Ekberg of Wakefield, NE, Sandy (Mike) Benson of Wakefield, NE, Virgene Mau of Deadwood, SD, Karen (Jim) Thompson of Stromsburg, NE; brothers, Dale (Debbie) Paulson of Wayne, NE, Ron (Josie) Paulson of Wakefield, NE and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Jorgensen; nephews, Scott Woods, MJ Rutar and Matt Paulson.
