Gary Wayne Ballinger

Gary Wayne Ballinger, 70, of Emerson, NE, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at his home in Emerson. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Building at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Winnebago, NE; Mr. Roland Warner will be in charge. The visitation will begin Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Veteran’s Building and continue until service time. The burial will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Gary was born February 13, 1949 in Shenandoah, IA to Willard and LeLa (Long) Ballinger. He attended school in Council Bluffs, IA. Gary married Dawn Peterson on April 4, 2001 in Glenwood, IA. He was employed at NAPA in Wakefield, NE.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Ballinger of Emerson, NE; sons, Ross Ballinger of Syracuse, NE, Joseph (Teresa) Littlegeorge of Winnebago, NE, Les Rave of Emerson, NE; daughters, Keri Hoyt of Omaha, NE, Evelyn Acosta of Winnebago, NE, Emma Littlegeorge of Emerson, NE; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bobby” Ballinger; parents; and brother, Linn Ballinger.
