Hope Wenke

July 30, 1984 — March 28, 2024

Hope Dynae Wenke, 39, of Peyton, CO, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home in Peyton, CO. The visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Walthill Fire Hall in Walthill, NE. The funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Walthill Fire Hall. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  

Hope was born on July 30, 1984, in Pender, NE, to Melissa Tippery and Preston Sheridan.  Hope and her sister Brooke were adopted by William “Brad” Wenke in 1996.   She attended and graduated from Pender High School in 2002.  She attended college in Wayne, NE, and Sioux Falls, SD.  She lived in Denver, CO where she worked for Janus Financial Services earning many awards and promotions.  She moved to Philadelphia, PA in 2006, where she worked as a childcare provider.  Hope returned home, then eventually moved to Falcon, CO to be closer to her mother.  

Hope was very artistic, she enjoyed drawing and singing.  She loved to sing and would often sit next to her Mama Sue on the piano bench and sing along. She enjoyed sports as a child and was a huge fan of Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers.  Hope LOVED the outdoors and the mountains.  At an early age, she loved camping with her mom, Brad, and Brooke.   She often took her children on hikes and always shared photos of their adventures.  Hope was super intelligent and excelled in ANY task she embarked on. She was a strong advocate for Native American Women for Domestic Violence and was always willing to help others even while struggling with her own problems.  Hope had so much pride in her native heritage and her three beautiful children.  She was always on the run, attending her children’s activities and posting pictures on Facebook.  

Hope is survived by her three children, Nicholas, Noelani and Alexavier of Peyton, CO; mother, Melissa Tippery of Peyton, CO; father, Brad Wenke of Pender, NE; sister, Brooke Wenke and her children Olivia and Milani of Dakota City, NE; brothers, Raymond Sheridan and daughter Robin of Macy, NE, Skyler (Yvonne) Sheridan and children Joshua, Quinn, Remi, Gabi and SkyLa of Walthill, NE,  Nile Sheridan and son Maxton of Macy, NE, MacKenzie Sheridan and children Tylen, Amyla, Marcia and Giani of Bismarck, SD, Matthew Sheridan of Green Bay, WI; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

Hope is preceded in death by her biological father, Preston Sheridan; and grandmother, Mama Sue (Warnock) Beaudette.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska for all they have done for Hope and her family.
