Jack Allen Soll

Jack Allen Soll, 79, of Bancroft, NE, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE, Pastor Nathan Henschen will be officiating.  The memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft.  Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE. Jack was born August 31, 1939 to William and Florence (Kinder) Soll in Omaha, NE. He was baptized May 1, 1952 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, NE and confirmed June 9, 1957 at Hope Lutheran Church in Spalding. Jack graduated May 15, 1956 from Spalding High School in Spalding. After graduation, Jack moved to Elkhorn and worked for Charles Warren. In 1962, Jack enlisted in the Army National Guard. He received an Honorable Discharge later that year.  He married LaVon Riecken on July 18, 1964 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. The couple had two children, Deanna and Mick. In 1973, the couple purchased their family farm near Bancroft where they raised their children. Jack was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in his work. Mick joined the farming operation in 1985. Upon Jack’s retirement in 2016, his grandson, Devin, joined the family operation.  When not working, he enjoyed family time, going to tractor pulls, and attending his grandkids’ events. Jack also enjoyed polka music and dancing a polka with LaVon. Jack is survived by his wife, LaVon Soll of Bancroft, NE; son, Mick (Michelle) Soll of Bancroft, NE; daughter, Deanna (Kent) Hansen of Bancroft, NE; sister, Darlene (Bob) McKenzie of Greeley, NE; special uncle, Harvey Soll of Valley, NE; grandchildren, Dr. Josh (Alaynna) Beutler and Nora of Pender, NE, Chelsey (Steve) Rabe and Waylon of Pender, NE, Devin Soll of Bancroft, NE and Desirae Broekemeier of West Point, NE; nephews, Nick McKenzie of Omaha, NE, Anthony McKenzie and Gannon and Grace of Omaha, NE; step-grandchildren, Nicole (Drew) Smith and Ashlyn, Ava, and Aiden of Sioux City, IA, Megan (Casey) Novak and Cason and Maura of Bancroft, NE. He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Homer and Hazel Riecken and several aunts and uncles.
