Jere Robert Morris

Jere Robert Morris, 58, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Wayne, NE, died on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at a Sioux City, IA hospital. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery of Wayne, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is handling the arrangements. Jere was born on January 18, 1963, in Wakefield, NE, the son of Robert “Bob” and Betty (Longe) Morris. From an early age, Jere loved playing sports and eventually being a coach. A majority of his lifetime was spent at the ballpark or auditorium. Whether it was baseball, football, basketball, softball and even golf, Jere enjoyed coaching the kids. After graduating from Wayne High School in 1981, Jere continued working for the City of Wayne Recreation department. He moved to Colorado and pursued his love of computer technology and worked for a short time there before moving to Omaha to continue working in the field. Jere enjoyed golfing with friends and going to concerts. Jere is survived by his mother, Betty Morris of Wayne, NE; sister, Jeanne (John) Vezner of Papillion, NE; and nephew, Jeremy Vezner of Papillion, NE. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Morris, and his grandparents.
