Jerome "Jerry" P Moore

Jerome “Jerry” P Moore, 55, of Pender, NE passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Karen NcNeil-Utecht will be officiating.  Please dress casual for the funeral per Jerry’s request.  The visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Burial with hunting honors will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Jerry was born September 24, 1962 in Yankton, SD to John and Gloria (Frank) Moore. He graduated from Pender High School in 1981. On May 1, 2004, Jerry married Tammy Powley. Jerry was a wonderful husband and father. His proudest title was “Papa” to his seven grandchildren. He was their biggest supporter rarely missing any of their activities. He loves teaching them to hunt, fish, and wave the big “L.” A hard worker with a soft heart Jerry never met a stranger and was always the first to offer his help to others. He did things his own way never making excuses because as he always said, it is what it is. He will be missed by the many friends he made along the ride. Jerry worked for the village of Pender for over 25 years and enjoyed working part time for MTM Pheasants the past two years.  

Jerry is survived by his wife, Tammy Moore of Pender, NE, daughters, Mandy (fiancé Rick Roeber) Johnson of Pender, NE, Jamie (fiancé Matt Torczon) Johnson of Pender, NE, Candice (Andy) Welsh of Pender, NE; sisters, Mary (Marvin) Greenfield of Bancroft, NE, Patty (John) Bessmer of Pender, NE; brother, John (Denise Wilson) Moore of Niobrara, NE; grandchildren, Trey and Addilynn Johnson, Haylie and Hayden Torczon, and Zander, Tayt, and Wyatt Welsh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Gloria Moore; brother, Jimmy, and nephew, John Adam Bessmer.
