Jerry P. Clausen

Jerry P. Clausen, 84, of Pender, Nebraska died on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.  The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh- Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  Jerry was born on May 11, 1933 in Pender, NE, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Nelson) Clausen.  He attended Pender High School and farmed with his father on the family homestead.  Jerry was united in marriage to Shirley Stimson at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE on May 10, 1953.  To this union four daughters were born:  Glenda, Becky, Carol and Jill.  The couple farmed West of Pender, until retiring and moving into Pender in 2013.  He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  Jerry also served 35 years with the Pender Rural Fire Board, for many of those years he was the president.  Enjoyed mowing St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, playing cards, and dancing to a good polka.  Most of all he enjoyed his family.  Jerry always had a smile and a joke to make people laugh.   Survivors include – Wife Shirley Clausen – Pender, NE Daughter – Glenda (Jim) Mueller – Thurston, NE and family:  Stacey Mueller – Omaha, NE, Joel (Megan) Mueller – Elkhorn, NE and children – Makenzie, Kayden and Jace. Daughter – Becky (Louis) Mostek – Pender, NE and family:  Cara (Chad) Rebbe – Hooper, NE and children – Logan, Wyatt, Isaac and Brealla;  Amy (Brian) Naber – Lincoln, NE and daughter – Jayma;  Paula (Tony) Nelson – Minden, NE and children Shelby and Casey. Daughter – Carol Hinrich – Lexington, NE and family:  Ryan Hinrich – Lexington, NE and child Courtney Hinrich; Bethany (John) Gutschow – Grand Island, NE and children Jaxon and Elizabeth. Daughter – Jill (Ken) Nesladek – West Point, NE and family: Dustin (Erika) Nesladek – West Point, NE;  Heather Nesladek (Justin Bang) – Fremont, NE.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Randy Hinrich; grandsons, Brett Hinrich and Jeremy Nesladek; brother, Jack Clausen; and sister, Janice Potts.
