Jill Christiansen

Jill Christiansen, 77, of Pender, Nebraska died on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Pender Community Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Randall Herman will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Jill was born on November 6, 1940, in Pender, NE, the daughter of Wilber and Dorothy (Vogt) Tonjes.  She attended and graduated from North Platte High School.  On May 27, 1961, Jill was united in marriage to Norman Christiansen at Salem Lutheran Church near Dakota City, NE.  To this union three daughters were born, Carla, Cara and Chris.  Jill volunteered for several years with the Pender Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and taught EMT classes out of Norfolk.    During her spare time she enjoyed quilting. Jill is survived by her daughters, Carla (Steve) Lindburg of Marco Island, FL, Cara (Dan) Spitzer of Lincoln, NE and Chris (Brad) Meyer of Pender, NE.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, a brother Carl Tonjes of Sioux Falls, SD and special friend Barb Wingett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Norman.
