David Jon Denker

David Jon Denker, 58, of Nacora, NE died on Friday, September 11, 2020, at MercyOne Siouxland Hospital in Sioux City, IA.  Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE.  The visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, NE.

Jon was born on January 11, 1962, in Pender, NE, to David C. and Constance (Pittenger) Denker.  He was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He attended and graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School in 1980.  After graduation Jon farmed with his family North of Emerson, NE.

Jon was the past Vice President of Northeast Nebraska Pork Producers.  He enjoyed farming, playing with his new bulldozer, moving snow, watching TV, and playing cards.  He especially liked playing the card game frustration with his nieces and nephews who also called Jon “Butch”. 

Jon is will be dearly missed by his brothers, Fred (Kimberly) Denker of Hubbard, NE, Jim (Jill) Denker of Dakota Dunes, SD; sisters, Joanne (Todd) Von Seggern of Pender, NE, Jeanine (Todd) Hale of Atkinson, NE; nephews, Josh Von Seggern, Mason Hale, David Denker; nieces, Amanda Von Seggern, Marika Von Seggern, Mackenzie Hale; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Jon is preceded in death by his parents.
