Judith Demke

Judith Marykae Demke, 54, of Emerson, Nebraska passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Pender Community Hospital.  A private family graveside will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. A private family visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for futures designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. 

Judith was born on June 21, 1966 to Walter and Eileen (Hightree) Demke in Pender, NE.  she attended grade school in Hubbard and graduated in 1984 from Emerson-Hubbard High School.  After graduation she married Steve Emmons, together the couple had four children.  Judith was a hard-working lady and always tried to help her children out in any way possible.  She ran her own in-home daycare in Hubbard, worked at Heritage of Emerson, was an aide at the Emerson-Hubbard High School and most recently managed the Subway restaurant in Pender. 

Judith was active within Trinity Lutheran Church in Hubbard, helping with soup dinners and any other activities the church had going on.  She enjoyed working on crafts and tending to the beehives making honey with Lee. 

Judith is survived by her parents; sons, Michael Emmons (fiancé Katie Schallau) of LeMars, IA, Spencer Emmons (friend Brooke), of Mapleton, IA; daughters, Kristin (Jeff) Anderson of Sioux City, IA, Vanessa Emmons of Harlan, IA; sister, Cindy (Paul) Chester of NM; brother, Robert (Sharon) Demke of Emerson, NE; 9 grandchildren; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and special friend, Lee Maslonka of Walthill, NE.

Judith is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Helen Demke, Herbert and Leona Hightree; and son-in-law, Doug.
