Kenneth “Rayme” Dowling, 58, of Allen, NE, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, NE. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Allen; Pastor Chris Hjelmstad will be officiating. The memorial visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Allen. The burial with military honors will be in Eastview Cemetery in Allen. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE. Rayme was born October 17, 1959 in Wakefield, NE to Kenneth and Dorothy (Whalen) Dowling. He graduated from Allen High School in 1978. After graduation Rayme entered the United States Navy where he served for 16 years. He married Gloria Hansen on July 19, 1980 at St. Paul’s Church in Wakefield and the couple had two children. Rayme enjoyed driving the school bus for over 19 years and helping farm for many years at the Gotch Farm. He also loved being outdoors fishing and camping, mowing and grilling. Rayme had a love for life and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Dowling of Allen, NE; son, Garry (Jennifer) Dowling of Canton, MN and their children Grace and Grant; daughter, Angela Fry of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Cheri (Merle) Krusemark, Peg (Dick) McCoy, Cathy Pond, Sandy (Steve) Sullivan; brothers, Francis Dowling, Ronnie (Darlene) Dowling, and Rick (Mikki) Dowling; father-in-law, Bob Hansen; sisters-in-law, Trudy (Jerry) Roberts, Kaye (Jim) Schweigert, and brothers-in-law, Dale (Sue) Hansen and Rex (Jean) Hansen. Rayme was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Elaine Hansen; and nephew, Chad Sullivan.
