Larry Bargmann

Larry Bargmann, 81, of Bancroft, NE died on Friday, July 16, 2021 at an Omaha, NE hospital. Funeral services for Larry will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE. The visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Munderloh –Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft is in charge of the services. Larry was born on August 2, 1939 in his parents’ home in Bancroft, NE the son of Harry and Lidabel (Beal) Bargmann. He grew up in Bancroft, NE and graduated from Bancroft High School in 1956. On July 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Deanna Preston at Rosalie, NE. Together they welcomed three children, Terry, Kim and Greg. Larry had and extensive career in the trucking industry. After spending many years long distance driving, he switched gears into a dispatcher position until his retirement. He enjoyed countless fishing trips. Larry and Deanna spent a great deal of time in Branson, MO; but what can’t be forgotten is his impassive skills when manning the grill. Many friends and family were lucky enough to enjoy his famous grilled chicken. Larry is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Deanna of Bancroft, NE; sons, Terry of Dakota City, NE and Greg (Lori) of Bancroft, NE; daughter Kim (Kent) Nelson of Elkhorn, NE. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marissa (Ronnie) Merchant, Danielle (David) Laubert, Alyssa (Jeff) Miller, Alec Pickering, Mariah (Jerid) Schumacher, Drake Luedert, Kylie Drilling, Erin (Brett) Drilling, Braxton Bargmann, Kyra Bargmann and Johnathon Bowers; great grandchildren, Macrae, Marty, Sunny, Charlotte and Diem. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Harlan and Elaine Preston; brothers, Lorne, Merle and Arlan; sister-in-laws, Marge Bargmann and Marilyn Bargmann.
