Laura R. Sorensen

Laura R. Sorensen, 92, of Bancroft, NE died on Monday, April 15, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hillside Villa in West Point, NE.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE, Pastor Nathan Henschen will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft.  Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft is in charge of the arrangements.

Laura was born on October 11, 1926 in Pender, NE, the daughter of William and Adline (Beinke) Siebrandt.  She attended country school at District 59 in Cuming County.  On February 6, 1955 she was united in marriage to Alvin Sorensen at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Pender.  Laura and Alvin lived on the farm, where she collected farm fresh eggs for forty plus years.  She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing tea towels, and helping people when it was needed.  Laura was a member of the Cheerio Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  She attended many sporting events over the years, starting with her children, then her grandchildren. 

Laura is survived by her husband Alvin of Bancroft, NE, sons, Duane (Marilyn) Sorensen of Lincoln, NE, Dudley (Jichelle) Sorensen of Waverly, NE and Brian (Debbie) Sorensen of Bancroft, NE.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Jenna, Ethan, Erin, Audrey and Cole Sorensen and Kelsey (Jared) Abrahamson, sisters, Dorothy Hinrich of Pender, NE and Lois Schmidt of Wisner, NE and a brother Glen (Margaret) Siebrandt of Pender, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law, Robert Hinrich and Ralph Schmidt and a brother and sister-in-law, Erwin (Deloris) Siebrandt.
