Lynette M. Larson, 69 of Homer, NE, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family with her dog Santana by her side. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE; Pastor Patti Meyer will be officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church. Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Lynette was born to Reinhold and lleen (Campbell) Miller on December 17, 1951, in Gothenburg, Nebraska. She married Ramon Larson formerly of Wakefield now Homer, Nebraska on December 10, 1976. They lived most of their married life in Wakefield, NE. After her children were raised, Lynette chose to finish her college education. Lynette attended Northeast Community College and Wayne State College, graduating with honors at both schools. Lynette greatly enjoyed the learning process. While at Wayne State College she worked for Wayne State at the Multicultural Center as a Native American Outreach Coordinator for several of the Native American Tribes of Nebraska. She also was the sponsor for the Native American Student Alliance group on campus. Another group she belonged to during this time was the President's Counsel for Diversity. Lynette loved diversity in many forms and absorbed herself in many of the various ethnic activities provided at Wayne State. As a result, she developed lifelong relationships that she kept in contact with over the rest of her years. Lynette was also a member of the American Association of University Women at Wayne State. Lynette completed her Master's Degree in Counseling and went on to be mental health and substance abuse counselor for Catholic Charities of Columbus, Nebraska, Behavioral Health Services of Norfolk, Nebraska and was self-employed at the Pender Community Hospital, Pender, NE. One of her earliest joys were boating and skiing on Lewis and Clark Lake. Lynette enjoyed belonging to various organizations. She was a member of interfaith Bible study for several years. She volunteered for Hospice and for Haven House Family Services of Wayne. Lynette also volunteered for Salem Lutheran Church of Wakefield; serving as a Stephen Minister and had passed certification to be a Stephen Leader. She completed the Clinical Pastoral Education at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City where she worked as a chaplain during the summer. She was on the Church Counsel and served as the head of the Social Missions Committee. As well as her volunteering, Lynette loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her love of flower gardening. She enjoyed having close relationships with her family and friends, having deep conversations with a certain few. Lynette loved giving and attending tea parties, crafting, and traveling. She also loved working on family ancestry and advocating for other women. Lynette was an active member of PEO. Lynette is survived by her husband, Ramon of Homer, NE; daughter, Jessica (Jason) Robins-Ensminger of Homer, NE and their children Colton (Laura) Ensminger of Kennard, NE and Kealyn (Tyler) Ensminger of Pawnee City, NE; daughter, Rae Anne (Chris) Parachini of Bastrop, TX, and their children, Caehn (Hailey) Knobbe of Ames, NE, Rhiannon, Denali, Vitor, Christofer Rae and Asher Parachini of Bastrop, TX. She is also survived by her sisters, Cheryl (Lyle) Husmann of Pilger, NE and Linda (Ron) Grace of Fallbrook, CA; brother, Dallas (Precy) Miller of Stanton, NE; sisters-in-law, Cyndee Larson of Wakefield, NE, Lu Ann Wilkins of Winston Salem, NC, Diane Larson of Lincoln, NE; brothers-in-law, Ron Larson of Wakefield, NE, Randy (Linda) Larson of Lenexa, KS, many nieces, nephews and several close friends.
