Margaret "Peggy" E. Maslonka

Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth (Swanson) Maslonka, 57, of Lyons, NE passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, following a short, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons, NE with Pastor Heidi Wallace officiating.  Visitation will be for immediate family.  Inurnment will be in the Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, NE following funeral services.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Peggy was born May 1, 1964, in Pender, NE to Russell and Joyce Swanson.  She attended Walthill Public Schools. Peggy married Larry Maslonka on May 28, 2008.  Together they enjoyed camping, traveling, going on drives, going for supper with friends, and enjoying time in the outdoors.  When Peggy was younger, she enjoyed riding horses, working cows, being outdoors and going on trail rides with her father and family.

Peggy loved to cook and was known to have the best chocolate chip cookies.

Peggy is survived by her husband Larry, three sons, James (Sheri Faye) of Lyons, NE, Steven (Stephanie) of Durant, OK, Daniel (Rebecca), of Broken Bow, NE; three stepdaughters, Leanne (Duaine) of Battle Creek, NE, Teresa (Brian) of Walthill, NE, Andee (Lyndon) of Norfolk, NE; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; mother, Joyce; two sisters, Rebecca and Jennifer.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Russell; and brother, Pete.
