Marilyn Rink

March 14, 1931 — February 6, 2024

Marilyn Jean (Anderson) Rink, 92, of Pender, NE passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Martha House in Lincoln, NE.  The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  The funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender.  Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Marilyn was born on March 14, 1931, in Rosalie, NE, the second of three children born to Andrew, Jr. and Thelma (Copple) Anderson.  She attended and graduated as the Valedictorian from Bancroft High School on May 11, 1948.  Marilyn married Harold John Rink on February 24, 1951, in Wichita Falls, TX on the Air Force Base.  They moved and lived for the next three years at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV.  After Harold was discharged, the couple moved with Randy in tow back to Pender and began their farming career.  Once they settled into the Pender area, the couple had two girls, Connie and Jeanne.  Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife and mother, an extremely skilled domestic engineer, and the glue that kept the house, home, and family together.  Marilyn enjoyed a large, related family and friend circle, hosting and attending many such reunions and get-togethers.  Traveling after Harold retired to see her ancestral home and family in Norway was a highlight in her later years.

Playing cards, puzzling, and attending her many grandchildren’s activities also kept her quite busy.  Marilyn was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and proud to be a Martha Circle Member.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Randy (Callie) Rink of Pender, NE; daughters, Connie (Chuck) Clifford of Lincoln, NE, Jeanne (Steve) Hansen of Pender, NE; grandchildren, Chris (Steph) Clifford, Corey (Jordan Dial) Clifford, Carissa (Rob) Loof, Connor (Sydney) Clifford, Angie (Ryan) Elrod, Blake (Carissa) Hansen; great-grandchildren, Brooks Clifford, Brody Clifford, Colby Clifford, Theodore Loof, Rhett Clifford, Hayes Clifford, Joslyn Elrod, Jaden Elrod, Ryker Hansen, Ramsey Hansen, and Rink Hansen.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sister, Janice (Curtis) Weborg; brother, Lee (Evonne) Anderson.
