Marion F. Peters

September 17, 1932 — April 3, 2022

Marion F. Peters, 89, of Wakefield, NE, died on Sunday, April 3, 2022, surrounded by her family at Providence Medical Center in Wayne NE.  Funeral services for Marion will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield; Pastor Jill Craig will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield; with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. 

Marion was born on September 17, 1932, in Wausa, NE, the daughter of Egon and Maja (Lundberg) Kastrup.  At a young age, the family moved to Wakefield.  In 1949, Marion graduated from Wakefield High School.  On December 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald W. Peters at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield.  To this union four children were born; Dawn, Tony, Leo, and Amy.  For several years, Marion worked as a waitress, before working at the Wakefield Healthcare Center as a CNA. 

Marion was a longtime member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield, enjoyed cooking, playing her piano, spending time visiting with friends. and family while enjoying a cup of coffee on her front porch, talking about the New York Yankees or other sports.  She looked forward to the time each year where she could return to her front porch and enjoy a cup of coffee with friends and family.  Most of all she enjoyed reading her bible and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Marion is survived by her sons, Leo Peters of Wakefield, NE, Tony Peters of Mesa, AZ; daughters, Dawn (Robert) Lubberstedt of Wakefield, NE, Amy (Dan) Fiedler of Bloomfield, NE; grandchildren, Wendy(Ben) Donner, Shane (Courtney) Peters, Breanna (Chris) Kemp, Karri (Abe Calderon) Glinsmann, Katelyn (Wade) Oltjenbruns, Kenna Fiedler, Kane (Ashley) Fiedler; great-grandchildren, Evan Donner, Olivia Donner, Kaytie LaMastus, Timothy Peters, Chloe Peters, Ryan Kemp, Wyatt Kemp, Sophia Kemp, Judah Kemp, Ty Kemp, Dominic Calderon, Abreanna Calderon, Breckyn Oltjenbruns, Ryatt Oltjenbruns, Rextyn Oltjenbruns, Carson Fiedler, and Peyton Fiedler.  She is also survived by a sister, Lora Dion of Wayne, NE.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Egon and Maja Kastrup and her husband Don in 1994.
