Mary Ellen Magnuson

Mary Ellen (Rager) Magnuson, 82, of Bancroft, NE passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield; with Pastor Patti Meyer officiating.  The visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.  Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. 

Mary was born on December 22, 1936 in Winnebago, NE to Frank and Ida Mae (Case) Rager.  She graduated from Winnebago Public School in 1955. Mary married William Magnuson and together they farmed north of Emerson, until their retirement when they moved to Bancroft. 

Mary is survived by her husband, William Magnuson of Bancroft; sisters, Betty Richards of Bancroft, Janet Lutjen of Bancroft; brother, Tom (Janet) Rager of Harshaw, WI; brother-in-law, Ervin Peters of Bancroft; son, Ed (Sharon) Magnuson of Beatrice, daughter, Susan Ellis of South Sioux City; grandchildren, Shawn, Shalon, Sabrina, Leslie, Casey; special Godchildren, Crysti, Tammy; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; many other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Raymond and Anna Magnuson; brothers, Robert (Joan) Rager, Frank Rager; sisters, Emma, Bessie, Wanda; brothers-in-law, Robert Richards, Kenneth Lutjen; grandchild, Chad Magnuson; niece, Tracy Rager; nephew, Michael Rager.
